Our approach to automatic translation is statistical learning algorithms that learn the details of language translation from example translated documents. The advantage of such an approach is the ease of applying the technology to a new language, since no expert computational linguist fluent in the foreign language is required. Our focus is on languages quite different from English, such as Arabic, Chinese, and Hindi.
