The Portable Submarine Tracking System enables at-sea submarine tactical development exercises to be taken off instrumented test ranges while still having the capability to view test reconstruction for ground truth reference. Through the use of air-deployed GPS-equipped sensors and advanced signal processing techniques, this system tracks hull-mounted underwater source pingers on various assets and discriminates between the different test participants to provide a "scene understanding" picture.
