Masahiro Takeoka
Visiting Scientist
Masahiro Takeoka, Senior Researcher at the Quantum Information and
Communication Technology (QICT) Laboratory of the National Institute
of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), Japan, was invited
by Saikat Guha to visit BBN for a year on sabbatical from NICT.
Masahiro is currently collaborating with members of the Quantum Information
Processing group at BBN on several research projects on the quantum
theory of optical communication. Before coming to BBN, Masahiro served
for one year as the Deputy Director of the Research and Development
Office, Global ICT strategy Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and
Communications, Japan. Masahiro is an active member of the Tokyo
metropolitan area quantum key distribution (QKD) network, and has done
seminal work on optical realizations of quantum receivers for
applications to communications and sensing.
