Joint Force Requirements Generator II (JFRG II) is a Time-Phased Force and Deployment Data (TPFDD) editing application designed to satisfy deployment planning and execution requirements at both home stations and remote command centers. JFRG II can:

  • Import and export Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES) executable TPFDDs, enabling the uploading and refinement of existing JOPES plans, or the creation and download of new TPFDDs
  • Modify and update reference data
  • Generate a data trouble report
  • Maintain interfaces with JOPES and TC-AIMS II

JFRG II Specific Capabilities

  • Selects forces by Unit Type Code (UTC) and Unit Identification Code (UIC) using a catalog structure
  • Identifies accurate unit data down to the unit personnel and level 4 cargo detail, by billet description and table of organization, and by table of equipment detail by individual item ID
  • Creates Unit Line Numbers (ULNs)
  • Modifies selected force requirements by ULN, personnel and cargo to level 4 detail, movement data, routing data, and modes and sources of transportation
  • Assigns UICs and unit names to reflect task organization and sourcing of requirements
  • Relays force requirements to other systems (Transportation Coordinators' Automated Information for Movement System II, JOPES, and Marine Air Ground Task Force Deployment Support System)
  • Imports data for review from above systems
  • Identifies and transmits shortfalls to sourcing organizations
  • Creates automatic fragment or split shipments
  • Fragments a unit into multiple detachments split by percent cargo and percent personnel in minutes, or determines split by actual equipment ID
  • Creates force modules in minutes using selection criteria and regeneration, then groups actual forces by "selecting and assigning"
  • Re-numbers and combines ULNs
  • Views detail down to level 6
  • Provides online documentation and help
  • Selects ULNs by data field or force module
  • Modifies ULN data by ranges and groups using the "range update feature" and saves range update templates for later use
  • Creates and saves modifications to standard UTCs for local, unique use
  • Performs Transportation Component Command pre-edit and logical error checks and reports to identify fatal errors and warnings in accordance with JOPES Volume II
  • Generates standard JOPES reports
  • Generates standard JOPES reports by force modules
  • Generates fixed reports by force modules
  • Designs, generates, and saves customized reports
  • Directs generated reports to video screen, printer or file

JFRG II Features

  • Design simplicity
  • Database methodologies
  • Supports TPFDD requirements associated with deliberate, crisis action, and exercise planning during deployment and redeployment phases
  • Familiar Windows-based TPFDD editing screens and standard JOPES terminology and procedures

JFRG II Benefits

  • Accelerates the development, sourcing, analysis, and refinement of plans, resulting in the rapid creation of executable JOPES TPFDDs
  • Decreases response time
  • Provides the planner with extensive reference files and code tables
  • Assists planners during analysis and refinement phase of TPFDD development
  • Reduces training time through use of familiar interfaces
