The National Signatures Program (NSP) is a joint, multi-community program to improve how signature data and related information are managed, accessed, and applied. The NSP provides an authoritative measurement and signature data system that offers unified secure (JWICS and SIPRNet), online access to signature data maintained at multiple, geographically distributed U.S. Government signature Data Centers. As such, the NSP is a complementary distributed system, through which users can electronically locate and retrieve high quality signature data.

BBN Technologies, as prime system development contractor, is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing support for the database infrastructure, as well as tools for on-line user access and data loading at the individual NSP Data Centers.
