Raytheon BBN Technologies

With DARPA funding, Raytheon BBN Technologies designed, developed, and demonstrated a network traffic filtering system to enable an enclave to survive a distributed DoS attack. Using filters based on Hidden Markov Models, the system separates normal network traffic from large volumes of DoS traffic. We also developed the Experiment Assistant, a java-based system with a sophisticated GUI that allows a user to conduct experiments with live or stored network traffic to assess the ability of HMMs to distinguish between normal and attack traffic.
