What is “AVOKE”? Is it a word?
Honestly, we made it up. All the good brand names we could think of were trademarked already, so we did what many companies do – we hired consultants to make up a new word for us.

Of course, the consultants had a clever story about what AVOKE is supposed to mean. And, it does actually have some relevant origins. But we hope you’ll think of 3 things when you hear AVOKE:

Still want to know what the consultants said? It’s the letter “A” combined with “-VOKE” from the word evoke, which has some applicable meaning that we like. From Dictionary.com:
e·voke [i-vohk] –verb (used with object), e·voked, e·vok·ing.
1. to call up or produce (memories, feelings, etc.): to evoke a memory
2. to elicit or draw forth
3. to call up; cause to appear; summon: to evoke a spirit from the dead
4. to produce or suggest through artistry and imagination a vivid impression of reality
While the reference to spirits from beyond doesn’t quite fit, it is true that our analytics cause new insights to appear from data about your callers. And we do strive to put a little design artistry into our user interface to make it easy to use and to make new insights about your callers vividly clear.
As for the letter “A”, the naming experts said that it’s pyramid shape denotes power and strength – and recommended that we use a pyramid in all our marketing. Obviously, we didn’t take this suggestion, though there are a couple pyramids in our powerpoint slides.
