NASA New England Outreach Center Honors BBN Technologies
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., September 11, 2001 — The NASA New England Outreach Center has honored John Forcucci, Small Business Program Manager, BBN Technologies, Cambridge, Massachusetts, for his advocacy of small businesses in the Northeast. John Forcucci accepted the NASA New England Outreach Center "Commitment to Excellence" Award at an awards ceremony culminating the recent 10th NASA Technology and Business Conference in Providence, Rhode Island.
"John Forcucci helps small businesses develop opportunities with BBN Technologies, a NASA prime contractor, and he assists companies in their efforts to do business with other prime contractors and the government," states Glenn W. Wright, Director, NASA New England Outreach Center. BBN Technologies conducts leading-edge research to develop networking technologies of the future, with both commercial and government customers. Mr. Forcucci has assisted the mission of the NASA New England Outreach Center by his personal efforts and support of its many outreach activities.
The annual NASA conference featured technology and business opportunities, discussions and networking between representatives from NASA, prime contractors, and small, disadvantaged, minority and woman-owned businesses. A co-host of the Conference, along with NASA, The Center for Technology Commercialization is a not-for-profit corporation. CTC is also the Northeast Regional Technology Transfer Center for NASA, which is one of six such NASA Centers. CTC's primary mission is to help provide nationwide access to NASA-developed technology and applications for industry commercialization.
