Mark Sherman

As General Manager of Raytheon BBN's Boomerang Division, Mark Sherman relies on his three decades of experience in technology procurement and licensing in the government sector to guide the transition of Raytheon BBN's government-funded research and development to military end-users.

Mark's 24 years at Raytheon BBN Technologies in variety of increasingly responsible positions have given him a deep understanding of all aspects of technology development and transition. Since 2005 Mark has led the technology transition activities within the Delta organization. He built the team that commercialized the Boomerang technology, resulting in widespread fielding of nearly 10,000 systems for both US and NATO forces. The next product launch for Boomerang is Warrior, a soldier wearable acoustic gunshot detection system weighing less than 12 oz.

For ten years prior to joining Raytheon BBN Technologies, Mark worked at Stone & Webster Engineering and General Electric (formerly RCA) supporting procurement and manufacturing activities. Mark earned both bachelors and masters degrees in economics from Northeastern University.
